Tuesday Letter #40 - Emphasis on Reading

Hey, Happy Tuesday!

Why are you getting this: You signed up to receive this newsletter on my personal website. I promised to send you the most interesting sites and resources I have encountered during the week. If you don't want to receive this newsletter, feel free to unsubscribe anytime.

Personal Updates

  • My addiction recovery is going fine, much more manageable! Not getting back to that stuff. Can't take another day of absolute 0 energy. I'm thinking of trying a 3 day fast actually, to do a small reset. But, find it super hard every single time!
  • Wrote a new blog post: "There is Always Another Way"
  • Played around with FastMCP last week. Super easy and fun. I have a couple of ideas what I can do with it, but I still struggle to find super useful usecase for MCPs... Maybe someone can help me with it?
    • repo: https://github.com/rasulkireev/math-mcp
    • connect-like-so:
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "math-mcp": {
      "url": "https://math-mcp.rasulkireev.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}
  • I'm considering opening a co-working space in Moscow. Anyone know if this can be profitable?

Quote of the Week

"Philosophy begins when one learns to doubt—particularly to doubt one's cherished beliefs, one's dogmas and one's axioms."

— Will Durant, The Story of Philosophy

You simply can't get to the bottom of anything if you never go out of your comfort zone, when it comes to your beliefs and knowledge.

Cool person I encountered this week

Dave Pagurek van Mossel

I found Dave through his "My phone is an ereader now" post.

Dave is a very cool programmer working on a huge variety of things, definitely check out his site!

Books I read this week

  • Demand-Side Sales 101: Stop Selling and Help Your Customers Make Progress: 13774 words
  • The Mind Illuminated: A Complete Meditation Guide Integrating Buddhist Wisdom and Brain Science: 13037 words
  • The Story of Civilization, Vol. 1: Our Oriental Heritage (India, China & More): 7579 words
  • The Story of Philosophy: 3759 words
  • Full-Stack Tao: 2135 words

Favourite articles I read this week

  • The 10 Steps for product AI generation with Gemini 2.5 Flash by Phil Schmid
  • 20 years of YC by Normcore Tech
  • Working fast and slow by Sean Goedecke - we all have intense focus days and slower days. Forcing high-stakes work on slow days causes mistakes. Embracing each mode improves output and well-being.

Other cool links

  • Discovery feed: Discover articles and blogs on Bear

Support

You can support this project by using one of the affiliate links below. These are always going to be projects I use and love! No "Bluehost" crap here!

  • Buttondown - Email newsletter tool I use to send you this newsletter.
  • Readwise - Best reading software company out there. I you want to up your e-reading game, this is definitely for you! It also so happens that I work for Readwise. Best company out there!
  • Hetzner - IMHO the best place to buy a VPS or a server for your projects. I'll be doing a tutorial on how to use this in the future.
  • SaaS Pegasus is one of the best (if not the best) ways to quickstart your Django Project. If you have a business idea but don't want to set up all the boring stuff (Auth, Payments, Workers, etc.) this is for you!

Sponsors

This newsletter is sponsored by Marketing Agents. Well, sponsor is a strong word. It is just another project of mine that I wanted to share with you 🙈.

If you have a side project and are struggling with the marketing side, it might help! It's still in early dev, so any feedback is super useful.

If you want to become a real sponsor, just reply to this email 😄
