🧠 Learning
- fast.ai releases new deep learning course, four libraries, and a 600-page book. There is a book you can buy. There is also a course Practical Deep Learning for Coders based on that book. The code is available on Github, as a Jupyter notebook for each chapter. The course is pretty fascinating.
- DBMS Tutorial for Beginners is an amazing tutorial series to understand about Database Management System, its architecture and various techniques related to DBMS. In the SQL Tutorial, you will learn how to use SQL queries to fetch, insert, delete, update data in a database.
- macOS Security and Privacy Guide - This guide is a collection of techniques for improving the security and privacy of a modern Apple Macintosh computer (“MacBook”) running a recent version of macOS (formerly known as “OS X”). Very useful information.
- ‘The Psychology of Human Misjudgment’ is a great speech given by Charlie Munger in 1995. This is cool video animated by Tiny and Thinko.
- Mind Coffee. It’s food for thought with the potential of being helpful. Served in time-saving compact 1 paragraph doses. No cheap internet philosophies here, fabricated quotes, or pretentiousness.
- Study Tonight. Our mission is to empower young students to be inventors and creators.
- Finally, I can’t go without mentioning Nat Eliason’s course on Roam. I personally am not using Roam (I use Joplin for Note-taking), but can vouch for anything produced by Nat. If you are planning to use Roam, this course will certainly give you a boost.
🖥️ Cool Projects
- AI|Writer - is an experiment using artificial intelligence to create simulated hypothetical correspondence with famous personalities, both real and fictitious. Very cool job by the creator. I am very curious to see more projects built on top of OpenAI API (GPT-3).
- F5Bot is a free service that emails you when your selected keywords are mentioned on Reddit, Hacker News, or Lobsters. Use it to monitor your brand, your projects, or just topics that you’re interested in.
- Inspireframe. Fast, easy website mockups for everyone. Easily create website mockups with thousands of real website components. No design skills are needed!
- Starboard brings cell-by-cell notebooks to the browser, no code is running on the backend here! It’s probably the quickest way to visualize some data with interactivity, do some prototyping, or build a rudimentary dashboard. Some features.
- GitDuck. Start collaborating and pair programming for free with GitDuck. Very good video on the landing page. I have yet to try the product, but it looks very well built and a good alternative to Tuple.
- For Python fans out there. danfo.js is a javascript package that provides fast, flexible, and expressive data structures designed to make working with “relational” or “labeled” data both easy and intuitive. It is heavily inspired by the Pandas library and provides a similar API. This means that users familiar with Pandas can easily pick up danfo.js.
😁️ Person of the Week
I found Tiffany through her post, “Being OK With Not Being Extraordinary.” She does a great job of redefining the meaning of extraordinary. It was also a sign from above that she made a post about Bullet Journaling as I am doing research on journaling on Paper vs. Digital. Tiffany is a clear thinker. I certainly recommend you read some of her work.
